2021 Park Covid-19 Policies

Phase 1 Return to Play Guide

  • All Provincial and Municipal restrictions must be adhered to at all times.
  • All park entrants who play slo-pitch must have completed the most current Slo-Pitch National waiver.
  • All park entrants must follow all guidelines of Buhler Recreation Park PHASE 1 RETURN TO PLAY GUIDE.

In addition to our regular routines, Buhler Recreation Park will be providing the following to ensure the health and safety of our customers:

  • All staff must use the self-screening tool before attending their games. The self-screening tool is available here: https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/
  • All staff will use protective gear to protect themselves and others while on premise.
  • Scheduled inventory checks and sanitization of all port-a-potties nightly.
  • Scheduled sanitization of all carts and huts nightly.
  • COVID-19 specific signage will be posted throughout the facility for players to refer to.
  • Buhler Recreation Park is moving to become a cashless facility during these uncertain times to protect our staff. We are recommending that any transactions within the park is done with your debit card (we do not accept credit cards). This includes gate fees. We are recommending that teams purchase gate passes before hand and to distribute them to their team members. These passes can be purchased at the gate or canteen area. For your first visit only, Exact Change will be accepted at the gate.

Soccer Players and Teams

Slo-Pitch Teams

  • All players must use the self-screening tool before attending their games. The self-screening tool is available here: https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/
  • If you have any of the symptoms named in the self-screening tool, you must NOT enter the park. If you have recently been in contact with someone experiencing these symptoms, you may NOT enter the park.
  • All players are to respectfully practice social distancing of 6 feet (2 metres) when possible.
  • Avoid contact with others and avoid touching your face, at all times. Do not share food or beverages.
  • Cough or sneeze into the crease of your elbow or use a tissue.
  • Do not spit! No Sunflower seeds or chewing tobacco are allowed during this season.
  • We recommend the use of face masks or face sheilds, and personal batting gloves, at all times.
  • We encourage players to use their own equipment. However, if sharing is required, please sanitize properly before and after each Individual use.
  • Bring your own chair (Dug-Outs and bleachers will be closed).
  • All players are encouraged to bring their own personal hand sanitizer.
  • A maximum of only twelve (12) rostered players may attend each game. Players may be added to rosters online at www.slo-pitch.com This includes coaches and managers. NO SPECTATORS OF ANY AGE until public health policies are amended.
  • Players are expected to remain in their designated area with the exception of hitting, fielding, washroom breaks, and food/beverage pick up. Teams may not merge or congregate with other teams or players.
  • Following games, teams are to collect all garbage and recycling from their designated area, and place it in their respective bins.
  • No spectators are allowed except for youth games where one guardian per child is allowed. Games will not start until this policy is adhered to.

Slo-Pitch Team players

  1. All players must use the self-screening tool before attending their games. The self-screening tool is available here: https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/
  2. If you have any of the symptoms named in the self-screening tool, you MUST NOT enter the facility. If you have recently been in contact with someone experiencing these symptoms, you must NOT enter the facility.
  1. All players are to respectfully practice social distancing of 6 feet (2 metres).
  2. Report directly to the parking lot closest to your diamond. Enter your scheduled diamond.
  3. Exiting your scheduled diamond: All players are to exit their fields from their designated area towards the parking lot using the space between the foul lines and walking paths.
  4. Do not congregate in parking lots.

  • All players are to practice social distancing (6ft. between each player) when possible.
  • At all times, avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Avoid non-game related contact with others. Do not shake hands, high-five, fist bump, etc.
  • If needed, cough or sneeze into the crease of your elbow or in a tissue.
  • Do not lick. Do not spit. No Sunflower seeds or chewing tobacco are allowed during this season.
  • We recommend the use of face masks, face sheilds, and personal batting glove at all times.
  • We recommend each player use their individual equipment. For those who choose to share equipment, they must properly sanitize the equipment before and after sharing.
  • Offensive players may not touch the ball with their hands.
  • On-deck batter must have adequate space in the dugout (6ft.) to leave the playing field if the ball enters within 6ft. of their surrounding so they can retreat to the dugout immediately.
  • Base coaches are not recommended. For those teams that wish to have base coaches, base coaches must be 6ft. from all players are all time. In the case of a defensive player moving towards the base coach, it is the base coach’s responsibility to be prepared to move away from the play, to a location where they will be more than 6ft. apart from all players.
  • Offensive team will verbally report their scores to umpires following each inning.
  • The catcher will stand 6ft. behind the strike mat (and batter).
  • If contact in a defensive play is required, social distancing is immediately back in effect after the play is made.
  • No coaching conferences and group huddles will be allowed for under any circumstance.

Umpires and officials

  • If you have any of the symptoms named in the self-screening tool, you must NOT enter the facility. If you have recently been in contact with someone experiencing these symptoms, you may NOT enter the facility.
  • All umpires are to respectfully practice social distancing of 6 feet (2 meters) when possible.
  • Avoid contact with others and avoid touching your face, at all times. Do not share food or beverages.
  • Cough or sneeze into the crease of your elbow or use a tissue.
  • Do not spit! No Sunflower seeds or chewing tobacco are allowed during this season.
  • We recommend the use of face masks, face shields, and personal protective gloves, at all times.
  • All umpires are encouraged to bring their own personal hand sanitizer.
  • Following games, umpires are to leave the diamonds immediately.
